A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

i'm 16. i was wondering about this feeling i'm having. there's this guy who goes to my school. we have no classes together, but ride the same bus. i met him this year. i really like him a lot. but lately i have this diferent feeling. he doesn't know i like him. i always look at him. i can't stop thinking about him. i have my phone with me all the time just in case he texts me. i am always checking my phone for a text from him. i find myself getting upset when he doesn't text me. i'm to scare to text him first. when he texts me my heart starts beating really fast. i always smile at him and laugh at a lot of things he says. i get really jealous if i see him with another girl. i've never felt this way about anyone before. we're pretty close friends, and i like him a lot, but are these feelings i'm having for him normal and what should i do?

this feeling is absolutely normal, it is called infatuation.

i don't say this because of your young age, even though teens have a tendency to proclaim love fast, i do not judge. the giveaway is feeling upset when you don't get a text. when you're so busy thinking about one person all the time it is easy to become hurt by what they do [or don't do] even if they have done no wrong!

you can feel this at any age, whether it be 16 or 60. it can last a few weeks or many many months.

enjoy it, you get to wrap all your feelings and attention into one person, without having to worry about the bigger stuff just yet.
