We want to get back together, but my parents don't like him. They think he is immature and lazy. I live on a farm so a hard worker is all that is valued by them. I love him, but I wonder if he is too young to really realize if he loves me, though he says it all the time. We have a wonderful sex life, and we love spending time with one another, but he has never once bought me flowers. I don't know what to do. I want to please my parents, but I won't feel the same without him.

Follow your heart, if you think it'll work then stick with it, your parents should hopefully see that you're happy and stop annoying you about him.
You should never let go of something that you're not ready to let go off, you'll only live to regret it then!
Maybe he is too young, but maybe he's not!!
Only you can decide and I think you should just flow with it,see where it takes you!!!

Well, i know how you feel when you say you just want to please them. my dad actually left us for a little while because i wouldnt please them and do what they asked- not to see him again. And i didnt. i had to lie to them, and say i did, but never really did. I suggest you talk to him about it. i think he seems a little too young for a hard worker like yourself. They say opposite attract. in this case it doesnt. sorry to say it, but you need a guy that works hard on a farm as you, and treats you a little better. He says he loves you. People say that just to say it. They think if they say it to you, you will say it back. thats the truth. they want to feel loved and i think thats what is happening here for you. Find a real man, and at the same time, please your parents. Trust me, been there, done that. I have the same problem as you, and im still going out with that same guy. ive been grounded for 3 months because of it. Dump the guy, or at least talk to him about it. he might feel the same way, but not saying anything. ilove him to death but ive lost alot of trust from my parents. Things cant get any worst, but at least i get the guy i like. take your pick... an immature guy that wont get you flowers or the trust and support from your parents.

He is way to young to know much of anything. That is why he doesn't send you flowers, among other reasons. At 17 he is a lot younger than your 19, in emotional years. How about finding someone your age, or older, who has grown up and has some real goals in mind for his life?
