writes:hi! i am good friends with this boy who i have secretly fancied since day one and have recently found out he likes me too. but the thing is i am very shy and even more so when im around him. so does anyone have any advice on how i can cope with my shyness and how i can get him to ask me out!

reader, anonymous, writes (3 April 2007): It took me along time to learn this- but when it comes down to it- shyness is often thinking too much about what the other person thinks of you. Beleive you are beautiful, fun, intelligent, talented etc. regardless of how he is around you. Once you really feel that way about yourself you will send off vibes that are contagious and inticing.In terms of interpersonal conversation- I would say ask him the questions- dont think at all about yourself- just have it be all eyeys on him and if he is interested in you back, then he will ask you quesitons. Just become ultra curious and interested- try to block out all other thoughts and focus on him. People like taking about themselves and they like others who listen. So let him do all the talking- you just profide the prompts! Hope this helps!
