Am I reading into things and seeing what I want to see?

I need help figuring out if I have a shot with this girl. Here goes.

I'm in First Year of uni and have a crush on a girl in my class. We've never actually had a proper conversation (mainly cos she makes me too nervous) but last week we encountered one another in a store and, though we didn't interact, she gave me a beaming smile. There are a few other minor things, like once when we assigned to the same group in class she mentioned my name under her breath - very minor stuff really. Does this mean I might have a shot with her or am I just totally reading too much into things and seeing what I want to see?

Unfortunately..I am sorry to say that you might be reading too much into this. Though on the upside, from the few things you have said about your interactions it sounds like she isn't put off by you by any means. I say talk to the girl. A girl doesn't give a "beaming smile" to just anyone. Good luck! P.S. just try talking to her an see what happens!
