writes: Am I being overly picky? I am 16. I have had my heart broke by some really hot guys that end up dumping me (and I only kiss them, nothing else) I've met this kid in one of my classes. He is kinda cute, and he is really nice. He definately seems to like me. The thing is, he's not really the type I usually like and he is actually about an inch shorter than me. (I tend to go for tall, skinny guys) Should I give him a chance? I like him but all my friends say I can do better (meaning get a taller, hotter guy) I am pretty sure he wants to ask me out as a girlfriend, but I don't know if I should or maybe I should wait for someone else that is more what I go for. Give the guy a chance, whats the harm in that?? The hottest, fittest guys always put themselves first and usually your just an after thought!!
Would you prefer to be with some one who makes you laugh and feel good about yourself?? Damn right you would instead of been with some one who is more interested in their own appearance rather than how you are feeling??
Give this guy a break and see what happens... You never it could be the one... Best of luck chick with it all... :)

reader, anonymous, writes (7 October 2006): first of all its usually the hotter more sexier guys that ends up breakig ur heart. they usually have to beat the ladies off with a stick. as young men they dont know how to treat a young lady. its the least unexpected guy who normally is not ur type that ends up being the perfect guy for you. the kind of guy who treats u right, adors u. stick up for ur self when it comes to ur friends, they should support u and not be so judgemental. its ur life, ur feelings and ur relationship. and an inch shorter than u is not a big deal, he may go through a growth spirt and grow much taller. and dont blame urself for past relationships or wonder why he dumped u, its only going to make dating harder. GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE.

What would you rather have? The fittest guy youve ever seen that treats you like rubbish or a average looking guy that treats you like a princess? Now dont get me wrong i like guys that are easy on the eyes but half of them have an attitude and love themselves and what use is that we want them to love us more than themselves. My advice would be to give this guy a chance, ignore your friends advice and give him a chance at the end of the day if it dosent work out and hes not what you want you can end it, gently though.....
