A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I'm really worried because i have about a 2 inch gap between my boobs. i've tried everything to get rid of it like different types of bras and i've even been on the pill because its ment to make your boobs grow but it doesn't work.

All my friends have perfect cleavages that they can show off but i just have nothing.

I'm fourteen and people say i'm still growing but everyone at my age is and they don't have this gap between their boobs. Am i normal and will this ever go away?

I wore 32A bra until I was 40 yo (and 1 inch gap)! Now I think my 34B (and no gap) is a bit too big for my size (5 ft, 110lbs) LOL. Now I fluctuate between 32B and 34B depending on my weight ... but the thing I like about the "gap" is that I can wear unbuttoned or revealing tops without looking so "obvious". I think you are lucky, sis! Enjoy your precious "gift" ;-)

i am 15 and my boobs are also extremely small, i feel odd comparing to my friends; but to be honest when i wear cuff bras and stuff them with socks it helps a bit.

Hi hun! I was your size in highschool and the more cleavage I had the more people thought I was easy! So be careful with wanting them to be too perky! My friend is 20 and she has the gap in her breasts too! She just can't get cleavage! There is a really cool invention you can try, look em up they are called liftits I believe its a tape thing that pulls them up or where you need them! Also a great bra to try is a balconette bra or the shelf bra. It has a cup that looks like it got cut in half horizontally. It has a 2 inch band between the two cups! It will lift and separate! They are great. I unfortunately don't get to buy pretty bras anymore! I have size H or I right now. I am pregnant but even when I'm not my chest is large! Enjoy your smalled size babe! You will figure it out!

didda123 agony auntAlso i have just thought i know that page 3 of The Sun newspaper is sometimes seen as a bit controversial but if you look there you will see alsorts of shapes and sizes and you will then realize that what you have is perfectly normal.

didda123 agony auntAm i right in thinking that you do actually have breasts but it is the coming together of them at the cleavage that is bothering you. Just some of the answers give the impression that you are flat chested which is not what you have actually said!

I personally hate that line that you get when your boobs are all squashed up in a bra and i am very happy when they are slightly apart as you have mentioned to me this is much more attactive.

I know that i can achieve various results with various types of bras you just need to experiment and find what suits you best.

Everyone is diffrent you are still growing so the final result will not have been achieved yet. Learn to love what you have once you have a loving partner who will love everything about you you will then realize that this is not important at all.

A female reader, sparkleworks Australia +, writes (25 January 2009):

sparkleworks agony auntI'm almost 20 years old with a D to DD sized bust, and was annoyed for years about my lack of cleavage. Although my breasts are quite large they just don't meet in the middle for some reason, unless I'm wearing a push-up bra.

Of course, nature is cruel and I actually really hate push-up bras. But over time I've grown to love the way I am- for example, I like being able to show a bit more decolletage without looking like I'm bursting out of my top like other women can sometimes.

The bottom line is that your breasts will change over time so you may as well enjoy what you've got while you've got it. Chances are you will eventually develop a bit of cleavage and then you'll have plenty of time to enjoy that! In fact it's even likely there'll be times when you'll miss your smaller bust and the different wardrobe options it afforded you. There are benefits and drawbacks to both sides of the debate, so make the most of it while you can :)

As people said, you sure don't need to worry. However, since you said you are on the pill - are you sure it's the kind of pill that actually does something for your breasts? Some contraception pills do the precise opposite of what you want.

Girls are paranoid about their boob size, guys are paranoid about their penis size - there really are more important things in life, and it's generally all not as dramatic as it might seem.

You know, I have big breasts and I would KILL for some small ones. Pvtguy got one thing right: its not important and we just can't do anything about what we're born with. I promise you'll start growing soon enough, so enjoy it while you can :)

stayanon agony auntI know exactly how you feel. I was the same. Up until about a year ago. And I'm 21!

Its true your body is still growing, all of my friends had big cleavages and I was always so jealous. But the point is, they arent a big deal. I did just fine without a big cleavage. Gel bras and padding can help your confidence, but you've gotta realise that everyone has something about themselves they dont like. You've gotta learn to love yourself as you are, and other people will love you for that.

Yeah, you are normal and people are right to say you are still growing, everybody developes at a different pace, there are girls who have developed ealry and there are late bloomers. I'm sure if you look around you will see there are plenty of girls your age that don't yet have "perfect" cleavage.

I know you will be fed up hearing it - but - your body is still growing and your boobs will develop just fine :-) Your doing the right thing looking at different types of bra and the Pill will help too. Don't worry!
