Hi everyone,

Well, I'm only going to keep this question short and straight to the point: I've been seeing this fella for a month but he has moved to America for 6 months to work but will be home for Christmas for a short while. He has rang me already from America. I miss him so much and can't bring myself to be with any one else. I'm so heartbroken since he has left.

Am I being stupid by waiting for him? He has said he misses me and has a photo of me so that has to mean something. Please help.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (5 November 2005):

I think it would help both of you if you dated others during his absense. Dating someone for one month cannot give you a very good perspective about him, no matter how intense the relationship was. Go meet other men. Be available to see him when he is home at Christmas. See if the sparks fly for both of you. Then decide together if you are going to wait for him to get back home, or just move on. What if he stays in America? Are you prepared to move there to be with him? You don't have to answer that question now, but it could come up. Date others. You need the company, the fun, and the perspective.
