Firstly, don't worry - you will be able to get the help you need until your husband is made to support you - he can't just have 3 kids with you and then walk away.

As you are in Britain the best place to get all the

practical advice and information you need is the Citizen's Advice Bureau - go to this link to find your local branch http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/index/getadvice

They will be able to help you get started with info for everything from benefits support you can claim (including housing benefit), child support from your husband, counselling if necessary (you, children), who you need to tell about your change of circumstances, legal path for divorce etc.

Also please do make sure to tell the childrens' teachers of this home upset, so they can keep an extra eye on their well being at school/nursery.

Best wishes to you for the future.

first of all i was in your position 3yrs ago. I also have three children.

what you need to do is contact your local jobcentre and ask to see a lone parent adviser. they will help you with housing cost (which you will not have to move from your current home)coucil tax and also be able to get child tax credits and income support. they will not take into account any maintence you recieve from you ex partner/husband. you will be able to manage and there is loads of help. let me know if you need any in depth advice.

good luck
