heeeeeeeeey guys. I feel really low at this time of year as I have very few mates and very little money and so can't go on holiday. I booked a holiday to Ibiza but fell out with my friend so didn't end up going. Now I've seen everyone's pics and they all look like they are having such an amazing time and I feel like I've missed out big time. I always miss out on things cos I have no mates or money. Any ideas?thanks for your help :0)

Country Woman agony auntWhy so few mates then and why did you fall out with one who was a so called friend?

Do you keep people at arms length for any reason?

Are you lively or very quiet?

Do you show off your body or are you very timid and shy of doing that?

Do you like the things the others girls like or do you set yourself apart by having different interests?

Believe me when I was your age I was very shy but I found I was a good listener and started off being an agony aunt I guess to my school friends when in secondary school.

Be proud of what you do enjoy doing and if you excel at something run with it.

So did you lose out financially on this holiday or did your friend or someone else take your place and pay you for your place?

Perhaps taking yourself to places like swimming or a gym may help. Do you go to any youth clubs or anything near you.

How many friends do you have and do they stay in touch very often?

Do you have cousins or older siblings you get on well with?

You may have to take the plunge no matter how hard it is to start up a conversation with someone at say the swimming pool or a club somewhere when out.

Do you have a part time job at all? As that could introduce to a whole different set of friends and also earn you a bit of extra cash.

My nieces who have just turned 18 have had part time jobs for the last 2 years and now have changed to permanent jobs since leaving 6th form college so anything is possible.

If you are earning then you can always make a date for a weekend away maybe to see relatives or friends who are not on your doorstep. Train fares can be relatively cheap for students with these cheap tickets.

Perhaps being on myspace can also introduce to new friends as well as my nieces rave about it. Just be careful what information you give out like numbers and home address. Get to chat to people first. The internet can be a whole new world if you careful when surfing as such.

Hope some of the above may help.
