writes:Why would a married man lie to his wife about his whereabouts? I'm friends with a married couple, I've known them both for about 3 years. They have been working out of state for the last year because thier business failed. They come back once a month to pay bills and check on their house. Anyways, I had the husband of the couple over to visit me while he was still in town. He came over just for about a half hour, and I was filling him in on all the latest town gossip. Well his cell phone rang, and he looked hesitant to answer it. He finally did, and it was his wife. She asked him where he was, and he LIED right in front of me! He told her he was "shopping". I don't know why he did this, he had nothing to feel guilty about. They both know I am a virgin and saving myself for marriage. Does anyone have any idea why he would have lied to his wife?

 Don't worry about it, it's none of your business. Maybe she thinks he's attracted to you and they've discussed it. Maybe he his attracted to you and she's jealous.

 He might have lied because he knows his wife is insecure and might get upset knowing he was alone with another woman. Just to save himself and her some grief, he decided to tell the shopping story. No big deal if you ask me.

Men lie for many reasons, usually to save their sorry asses coz they have lied in the first place! What's probably happened is that he's told his wife he's somewhere else, then she phoned and he told her he was out doing some "shopping"...men just find it easier to lie and get themselves out of trouble. I wouldn't worry about it too much, if the behaviour continues however...do some digging around to see what you can find, detective work! Hope all goes well, Charlie x
