writes:My best friend of 2 years has liked the same guy for just over 2 years now. I've watched her constantly get hurt by him and have seen her cry because of him. Just recently, she had been in a relationship with a GOOD guy and I honestly thought he would be the one to make her forget about this other guy. Unfortunately, the other guy swooped in and started making her feel guilty for moving on. That relationship sadly ended. 2 weeks ago she got with the guy who put her through hell. She claims that he has turned around and treats her good but I can't shake the feeling that he is going to hurt her again. No matter what I say, she only listens to him. No one around her wants her with him but she still wants to be with him. What should I say? What should I do? /:

reader, anonymous, writes (21 September 2011): You can't do anything more. Your friend is satisfied with things how they are. Some girls just like assholes better than nice guys. Especially girls your age. (Teenage girls mature faster than boys? Not in my experience.)
My advice is you should stop listening to all the complaining about him. She is sticking her hand into a fire and then complaining that it hurts. She is doing this over and over again and I'm sure you are tired of listening to her complain and cry about it. So stop treating her like she is a victim of anything. Start treating her like what she is, which is an annoying drama queen who creates her own problems and then expects you to help her deal with them. She needs to grow up.
