 well that sounds like a guy friend I had but people sed he was shy well he was in some ways but he had made me feel like I was his everything he called me his princess and I became more then a friend to him but he never made me his girlfriend he just made me think that he cared so he could get more out of ower friendship so be careful if he cares he tell u so dont do more then be he friend till he makes you his girl...if he makes u feel like he cares calls u the most nices names u ever herd dont go for it till he makes u his... I been the and the pain of letting u know hurt me to think back I dont want u to feel that pain so if he dousent make u his girl then stay friends it better to have him friend the not at all...xoxo

What I suggest is that you make the conversations about becoming a couple more frequently and hint that you'd love a relationship with him. Or (and I think this is way more effective) you can make him your boyfriend. You can take the relationship to the next level because contrary to general beliefs, the girl can ask the guy out just as well. Instead of waiting to be given something special, you can just take it. he may just be shy or may just not be ready for a relationship.
another reason could be that he's worried how it would affect your friendship!
just tell him how you feel.
and see where it goes from there
