Why did he get back in contact ?

Question - (13 November 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 14 November 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

hi i after arguing quite abit for a few months (mainly through me not trusting my boyfriend due to his cheating in the past), my ex said that we were over.

i said that i did not want any contact if i were to move on he agreed.

we had a city break planned for a four days, as we were over i took someone else. he was a male friend and we went as just friends.

we had a great time and now that i am back my ex contacted me to say that he is hurt that i went with someone else, and yes he thinks that no contact is best then went on to say that he would like to be friends in time maybe.

why is he doing this?

could he be having second thoughts?

thing is i never wanted us to be over and i told him so at the time but he would not have any of it, and just when i thought i would make a fresh start he does this.

i dont want him back now, but i would like to know what he is doing and why.

can anyone give me an outside opinion please?

A male reader, CaringGuy United Kingdom +, writes (14 November 2009):

No, it wasn't that. He was surprised that you suddenly took someone else and decided he'd play with you a bit (more likely he was initially jealous). He's got the result he was looking for. You're now wondering what he wanted. All you need to remember is that it is over between you two and for good reason. He isn't the one for you. Move on and find someone else.
