 well only you can make this decision, if you want to make things work with him then go for it but tell him the first sign that he is going back to his old ways you are leaving him and never giving him another chance. But if your heart isnt in the relationship anymore and you dont have feelings for him anymore then your aswell to leave it at that.

Sounds like he was probably feeling guilty for treating you badly, so is now trying to make it up to you. Be careful as he may just go back to how he was once he's realised he can get you back easily when he messes up. Sometimes leopards don't change their spots.
