 Buy a money holder type card and place in it hand made coupons something like "1 back rub" "1 sensual massage" "1 you're wrong, I'm right"(use this one carefully!) "1 watch the game with me card" "1 night out with the guys" things like that, be creative and even research online. I did this and he liked these better than the expensive shirts and ties. Find what he likes, golf and such and buy him a game at the local course or whatever it is he's into! On top of that go to the local craft shop, buy a big red bow and ribbon and wrap yourself up!Good luck!
