What questions/topics can I talk about on a date?

A female Australia, anonymous writes:

I am a really shy person and I take a fair while to get to know people, before I feel comfortable around them. And even when I do know people really well, I'm a still a bit on the more quiet side. I'd rather listen to other people and hear about them, and observe others than talk about myself.

Anyway, because I am very shy at first, I am often lost as what to say.

I have just started dating my bf and I really do like him. Whenever I'm around him though, my brain like just shuts down and I go completely speechless and don't know what to say! I am terrible at thinking of random things to say. So I would like to go to my next date, a bit 'prepared' with some questions/topics of conversation in mind, so when I freeze up and go blank, I can refer to my mental list. However, I neeed some help coming up with ideas for this! Please, anyone, any ideas?

I would really appreciate any help, thanks!

By the way I am 20 years old and my bf is 25.

alexroliepolie agony auntTalk about your hobbies, things you love, things you're not so fond of. Get to know him. Little things about him, like his favorite color, food, movie, stuff like that. Those conversations are SO fun. Especially if you have many of the same favorites. My boyfriend and I have EVERYTHING in common, and we are still, after 9 months, finding things out about each other from random conversations. Just loosen up and let yourself go. If he's dating you, he obviously likes you. Show him more of yourself and learn how to be comfortable around him. :) You're awesome, just be happy!
