hi, I know this isn't a relationship question, but this question site is the only one I like, I don not like any others so help would be appreciated, thankyou

I am holding a baby shower on sunday and have a few cakes to bake - as well as all of the other food to prepare.

sunday morning will be cooking food which has to be cooked on the day

I will be spending Saturday cleaning ect and preparing any food I can do

I was hoping to bake my cakes on the Friday - and ice them and then store in an air tight container -

I am making plain vanilla and lemon cupcakes (just normal icing)

a lemon drizzle cake

and a chocolate tray bake with chocolate frosting - do you think these three cakes will keep and still be delicious on sunday if make Friday or am I going to have to rearrange my schedule to bake them Saturday?

thankyou so much

So_Very_Confused agony auntcupcakes and a lemon cake and a chocolate cake... are you having 100 people?

if not you may be making too much food...

but yeah they will keep... do the final decorations (sprinkles or drizzle the morning of if you can...

and it should be fine...

and relax... no one talks about the party in terms of the food... "we had a GREAT TIME AND the food was great" but it's all about the people and the fun... the food is secondary.

Most of those cakes will be fine with two nights in an airtight container. Try to make them friday evening

If you're planning on decotaing the cup cakes with buttercream and sprinkles etc - it best to leave the sprinkles until the day of serving because the sprinkles seem to melt and sink into the icing if they're left sitting. It still looks pretty but you don't get quite the same look and texture.

Oooh! you've got me in the mood now. I want to bake a cake...

RevMick agony auntHi,

I'm not really a baking expert, however I do believe that especially supermarkets don't make theirs on a daily basis and they store them for days on end.

I would say that they will be fine and still as flavorsome and delicious after a day in a sealed container.

I would like to add, that I am free to do taste tests. lol
