Hi everyone i have started speaking to an ex recently again after a couple years. Weve been texting briefly and he even wanted to take me out and to come see his flat and as soon as i asked him why he decided to talk to me again after all this time, he didnt text back. Why is this? We used to really love eachother, his friends knew how much i meant 2 him and i would do anything to get us back like we used to be cause i still miss him to this day. I would like to hear women and mens points of views, if any of you have been in a position like this or u have witnessed it, please let me no asap, i just dont understand what is going on, should i txt him again or wait for him to txt me? please help me!

A female reader, Original shiraz! United Kingdom +, writes (16 April 2009):

Sometimes after so long its impossible for things to be how they once were, past is past and that is seperate to your future. After so long a lot of things have changed, he probably really misses you and after time spent apart maturing and experiancing life a lot more hes been rethinking of the past and what he once had, people tend to reach back into the past to replace what is missing in there present.

Ex's will always be a part of your life but feelings fade after time and what once was never really is again. Maybe he cant answer you as he finds it hard to explain his feelings to somebody hes been out of touch for, for so long and he feels that you questioning it may indicate its not what you want. What ever his motives for not replying he obviously got back in touch for a reason and to find the truth it needs to come directly from him.

i never usally give my own side but as you as for a point of view ill give you an honest side, when people leave your life without knowing it you become acustom to life without them, you make a lot of changes and you change as an indivuidual, so when they come back into your life all your emotions take over you want the past life of happiness you want back what went wrong this is normal but god it hits you when it does go wrong.

Ex's that you really love can hold such a power over you without even knowing and that power can be so damaging when its brought back into your life after being missing for so long. To round up (a very deep feeling!) in my experiance this situation hasnt panned out the way a hoped, some people just dont change even with time and it can be a shame especially if you expected a lot more.

Its up to you which move to take next, every relaionship has a different way of ending and occastionaly reconnecting, i dont know the ins and outs of your relationship all i know is as soon as you ask the question deep inside you know the hold is back on, hes got you thinking and honestly i think that you will text him back and i hope it all works out, itll take a lot of time and a lot of talks but some are strong enough to come through it the other en, if you both want it enough...

Sorry that was so long and a bit too deep in parts!
