Sincere or just stringing me along?

Question - (6 March 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 6 March 2009)
A female United States age , anonymous writes:

If a man says that he is 'madly in love with you' and wants you by his side, is this maybe a line or what does one look for to know if he is sincere. Here's the situation...about 2 months ago, I had been seeing this man on a regular basis and out of the blue, he disappeared...had a lot of pressures in his life. Well a few nights ago, he saw me on IM and apologized profusely for disappearing, told me he missed me so much and that he had the bad habit of retreating unto himself. Then he proceeded to tell me his deepest thoughts about me, and us. He said he was chicken to even contact me again due to the lapse of time and such but would I please give him/us a chance. So, what are your thoughts on this? Is he sincere sounding? How does a woman know if a man is feeding her a line or not?

A male reader, vmadman United States +, writes (6 March 2009):

Sounds like a liar to me. People call the people they like, its an impulse. Those who cant "get up the nerve" end up as anti-social stalkers.

Men rarely say what is on their mind, so pay attention to actions, not words. That applies in all stages of a relationship.
