writes:He's 14 and does it with his friends, his grades have been slipping recently and I think its because he's started smoking weed. He's young and foolish and some of his friends are a bad influence on him, one in particular. Should I tell our parents because if I do I will be a snitching sister and I don't want him to hate me. We are quite close and he does generally listen to me and asks me for advice.

 Talk to him yourself but if you tell it may be along time before he ever forgives you. Plus all the parents would do is yell and punish him when he really need some support to realize that his life doesn't need the weed. That you can help him with. Try not to get frustrated with him but definitely talk to him.

reader, anonymous, writes (20 March 2010): dont tell, just talk to him about it and tell em how u feel about it, telling ur parents will only make him be mad at you and distant and possibly get angry and do it more, smoking weed in a lot of cases is a phase, but yea u never know. if u find hes into abusing other drugs then id say tell haha

 I think You Should Yes i Knw he might hate Yhoo for a bit and he might shout and that but you will be helping him in the long run x maybe if your not sure about telling your parents you should try talkin to him yourself tell him how concered you are about this and if all fails then tell your parents xxxx
