Should I tell him I like him? Or find out if he likes me first?

I reaaally, reeallly, REALLY like this guy in my homeroom. He is like wicked cute and funny and he says hi to me sometimes! I was sitting in homeroom today right before the bell rang for school to start and I happened to look over at him. I gave him a kinda smile and then he smiled bigger and we just looked at each other for like 30 seconds (it doesn't seem like long but if you've ever experienced it you know what I mean) and then he looked away.. I thought it was so cute but I felt so embarressed after because I had my hands on my face bc my fingers were freezing I must have looked ridiculous lol.. But I think he kinda likes me and I like him a lot . Should I tell him? Or should I find out if he likes me? Should I ask one of his friends, or should I have one of my friends tell him for me and find out if he likes me back?! What do I do?!
