A female Australia age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I've never been in a relationship in my whole life, though there are a lot of guys who courted me before I usually dumped them and keep my promise to my mom and to myself that i will never be involced with someone unless I finished my college. It is kinda hard on the first few years but I managed to handle it, but now, this guy drives me crazy, I've never felt so much loved and appreciated by anyone but him, I tried to dumped him before but everytime I do my heart beats so so fast and my knees shakes! I think I love him! I know him for about a year now, and definitely he's the guy that I wanted to be with for like forever. I told him to wait though im dying to be with him, but he told me that he can't wait any longer and I should make my own choices in life, (which is hard for me). Should I keep him? or keep my promise? pls help...

Have you explained to this guy about your promise? Tell him you will talk to your mom and sort it out...

Can you not explain to your mom how you feel? Tell her you can do both - see this guy and finish college?? I kno like all mom's she is only looking out for you and your future. But by making you promise such a thing isn't realistic either!

You are young and bound to meet cute guys in college and maybe her biggest fear is that you get pregnant and become either a single parent and not finish college!!

Just sit down and talk to her about it - ask her why she made you promise this?? THere could be more to it than you know?!?!
