A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I am a student, and I have been working somewhere for a while. Im about ot leave in three weeks time, and I really want to ask out one of the guys there. Only thing is, that he is slightly older, lives with his mum, and is not the best looking of guys. I'm quite attractive, and in my late twenties. When I asked one of my other work mates, she thought I was joking and laughed! I relaly like his personality, he makes me laugh...and I think its sweet that he lives with his elderly mum.

Should I ask him out? He has shown no signs of interest though... he is nice to everyone, not just me.

So_Very_Confused agony auntif you like him then ask him...

one caveat is that a man who lives with his mom when in his 30s may not be very mature.. it depends on why he's still living at home... but that knowledge will come with time.

A reader, anonymous, writes (26 February 2013):

This could potentially be a really good guy. If you know there is chemistry, then you should ask him out. A date won't kill you to find out what kind of man he really is and what is really between you two. Just a bit of a warning though...he might be pretty inexperienced with relationships and while he is charming, he may become a pain in the ass later.

Atsweet1 agony auntIf you like him yes. If you are concerned about others comments and concerns then you probaly will not. The backlash of dating someone unattractive plus older and living with parents is enough usually to deter most women.
