We also know what each other look like. It has been a week and we have discussed meeting. It must be important to her or she wouldn't have mentioned it.
Is it important to you that she finds you handsome, if it hurt your feelings I would not proceed.
If you laughed driving home thinking i am a bit of an ugly bleeder, proceed.
If she brings it up again, or resist, kissing etc back out.
Use your instincts.

 Its not that important unless you view it as important.
If she views looks highly then perhaps it is a problem. What I would concern myself over is that she met your compliment with an insult.
Could you really deal with constant put downs? Could be the beginning of something you don't want to be involved in. Just a little heads up
