writes:I've been dating the same guy since i was 14. My parents never liked him but I stayed with him. 6 months into our relationship I found out he cheated on me so I ended our relationship. After being seperated for more than 15 months we got back together. We recently got engaged and I'm scared to tell my parents because I know they won't be happy.

if you love him and know you will be happy just go for it but if your scared to tell them it might be because you yourself have doubts about the engagement yourself and feel that your parents will realise this. if its what you truely want just sit them down and tell them or maybe write a letter to let them know but depersonalise it
