The problem is that people at one of my jobs think I'm an idiot because I hardly talk and when I do it's just stupid random things. The other place I don't what to talk about.Can anyone give me help? You have the worst of both worlds going on. You can not talk a lot, thats ok. But when you do dont jibber.
I had a friend like this in college. He would just say stupid puzzling stuff that convinced people he was mental.
Eventually he decided to go with the whole silent thing and cultivated it- black clothes, moody and silent. Eventully it worked in that he wasnt trying to be glib anymore so what he did say was only a few sentances and made sense.
As a bonus all the girls assumed he was a moody cipher and try to understand what was going on with him.
Another option is to join Toastmasters. They have a lot of problem straightening out people with your kind of issue.

reader, anonymous, writes (26 November 2006): What you need to do, is pay attention to what they are saying and oind. Once you have done this you will ahve basic knowledge about them, then ask them question about things they are doing, things you know they are interested in. This will help you start a conversation, and then can expand from there. It will then get easieras you get to know them better. People love to talk about themselves, and like people to show an interest.
