A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Dear All

Apologies this sounds disgusting, but please I need help on this one!

For the last day or two I have had pain below my gentitals in bettween my penis (below the foreskin and testicals and my anus.

Initally i thought it was a area I had irritated by scratching etc. Today I found a big lump 1-1.5cm long and 0.5cm wide. If I squeeze it it goes all whitte and If I push my fingers underneth it I can feel like a circular shape!

I previously had a smaller one, when I poped it by mistake red liquid (not blood), possibly red blood cells came out. Then the pain stopped. Although weirdly, I had chicken pox afterwards!

Please help!

I hope it's not cancer!

Thanks!

From your desciption it is very unlikely to be cancer. Dont panic about it. You should see your doctor as that is the only way to find out what it is. It is very likely to be easily cured. Doctors deal with these things every day and are used to people being anxious. Can you talk to a parent or older sibling who could go with you.

Jamer70 agony auntWell im not a doctor. But i advise that you no longer push or squeeze at it because if it is an infection it could go into your blood stream, and thats not good.

I recommened even though it is embarrasing that you show it to a docter to get checked out. Yes it is very embarrasing at your age but it could be treatable so you should.

PS: I doubt it would have given you chicken poxs

A female reader, anonymous, writes (3 June 2007):

Could be a cyst, an ingrowing hair, or a boil of some sort. Get yourself to the doctors for a check up. If it is a boil then you may have to get it lanced and a course of antibiotics. Don't leave it though because if it is an infection then it can get into your bloodstream and make you really unwell.
