I do not like the way I look anymore, it never use to bother me but for over a year now it really gets me down. Sometimes I think I look good, but mostly I think I look awful, pale, ugly and just horrible. To make it worse I realised yesterday that I have one eyelid that hangs lower then the other, and now I cant stop looking and trying to tell myself its not that bad, but its a losing battle as always. Its controlling my entire life and has done for over a year now, I dont know how much longer I can put up with feeling sad and upset about it... cant anyone offer any advice or help please? You know you are being over critical. You know it is a problem that you are creating.
If you know this then the best thing to do is just give your self a kick up the arse and tell yourself you are being stupid.
There are so many bigger problems in the world than how you look. You have to realise that it is all in your head.
When you find yourself thinking sad things about your looks then give yourself a clip round the ear, put on a happy song and have a dance.
Good Luck!! xx

We're all much more critical of ourselves than other people. Something like your eyelids are only noticed if a person's attention is drawn to them by saying "do you think there's something odd about my eyelids?"
I used to be critical of myself, because I've always been overweight and wear glasses, but being a practicing Catholic, I've learnt that the spirit is much more important than the body. I've stopped caring about my looks and now barely ever look in a mirror. Since I've stopped looking at myself, I feel more confident and people are drawn to me, I've received lots of male attention too!
What's important about a person is their attitude and place in society: be generous and caring, take an interest in knowledge, people, sports, travelling, make the most of your time and thank God every day for the things you have.
Everyone has problems and insecurities, every here and there we all have love and happyness, you just need to recognise the good in your life and take the bad in your stride!
Be critical of the things you can change, but embrace the ones you cannot! If you feel other people put you down, accept it as their opinion, try to see if there is any truth in what they say, but only if it's useful. If someone puts you down all the time, they're bullying you and you should not stand for it! Stand up for yourself and be proud of what God gave you!
God bless you and good luck!
