Hi, I have been going out with my gf for over 7 years and are considering marriage. Up until now, we have had separate lives with separate friends. We get on really well and we have no problems. However, her friends are different from my friends, she is not as bright as me - which doesn't bother me personally but sometimes I worry what other people will think when they meet her - i.e. I am emabarrassed of her sometimes.

Can I overcome this or is it better to end the relationship now?

If you think her lacking wit is enough to end your relationship, perhaps you shouldn't be together. If you love her and if this is your biggest problem, what exactly /is/ the problem?

As long as you love her, should her perceived lack of intelligence really be a factor?
