I have seen him check me out aleast 3 times and he has invited me to join him to aleast 3 events with him that havent happend yet becuz its hobbies of his and he hasnt asked me for my number yet. He sometimes says random stuff to make me laugh. When we talk his eyes and mine connect. I sometimes hand out my hand to shake his just so i can touch him and he gladly takes my hand to shake. I like this guy alot but terrifed to loss him as a friend if he doesnt feel the same. Any advice?

From experince of being that guy, it is very scary, and he probably feels the same way you do. Usually men show their attraction by making eye contact and then their eyes dart away, as they are nervous that you noticed. usually when women are attracted to someone (not always) they will act curius yet nervous around the man they like, and this guy is probably noticing this and worrying that you may or may not like him, which is why he is struggling to actually ask you out on a date. i would sugget that you try passing of small hints to show your interest in him, as then this will make him more confident to ask you on a date.
