My ex, with whom i split months before because she cheated on me, joined the same club because she is already friends with many people who head the organization, and is now in a leadership position. I feel like she is did this solely to hurt me, and I don't know what to do. This sucks. I really hate her for trying to hurt me like this.

reader, anonymous, writes (11 December 2008): Try to pretend as if she is not there. See her but don't see her. Don't let her realize that she it getting to you, then you will be playing in her hand. No, no matter how difficult this might be, try to "ignore" the fact that it is "her", treat her as if she is just another girl down the road.
Take female friends with you to the meetings and just go and enjoy the company of the other people.
Don't let her succeed in making your life miserable.
Be strong and make it clear to her that you don't care or are not interested in her and that she does not have any influence or affect on your life. Be in control of your life and don't give her the power to "play" with your feelings or emotions.
