Question - (5 August 2007) 2 Answers - (Newest, 5 August 2007)
A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend has become quite overweight, mostly around his belly, and finds sex akward becaus of it. The weight is from prescription pills, and not his fault, and he cant stop the medication either, he has to take it for many more months. He gets frustrated and angry at himself and I hate seeing him feeling that way, so I looked up some positions on the net that are good for people with weight problems and I casually suggested one of them, and it turned out great and he was delighted. Then he found the site on the computer in my history and got mad about it. I think he was just embarassed about his problem and took it out on me. Iv been understanding about this and assuring him his weight doesnt factor to me even thou I understand why he feels so low about it. But since finding Id looked up the site, hes been reluctant to have sex again [please note I dont push him into it or ask all the time, he is usually always eager despite the problem he faces] and he wont talk about it. Any advice on what to do about this?

SumYungGuy agony auntContinue to be there for him. Be kind and gentle - loving and caring. Reminding him that you don't care about the weight thing.

Just keep at it. Daniel said it best about him needing some time. He needs continued support. Once he finally realizes that the person he loves doesn't mind - and loves him still - he will find his way out.

hope this helps.
