A reader, anonymous, writes (9 October 2008):

hey if ya wanted to like, not be pregnant, try not having unprotected sex? I mean damn it says ur between 18-21... I mean I know getting pregnant must be the "cool" thing to do, but damn 21? A lil young don't ya think?

Have ya considered all of which comes with being pregnant? A veryyy hard college life, if one at all knowing how every other baby momma turns out...

anyways, to young to be havin sex, but hey if you wanna risk throwing away the glorious years of your youth, it's up to you.

Oh yea, try being smart and maybe not having unprotected sex maybe? DER!

michelleAKAmandi agony auntThis is VERY possible, however; have you been really stressed and/or worried about the fact that you may be pregnant?

If so, this can delay the start of your cycle. Don't be worried about it, if you are. Wait a few days and get tested or go get a home pregnancy test. How late are you?

Whatever day you were due to start, count from there and test on the 6th or 7th day. That is usually the earliest the hormone can be detected in your urine. If you take it before that 6th or 7th day, then it may be negative when you are in fact pregnant. AND.. it can take up to 10 days after your missed cycle. Read the test and find one that reads, "can show results within 5 days of a missed period". If it reads negative and you still feel you may be pregnant, test again in about 4 days. I know the wait is terrible, but these things you can't rush. We have no choice. Get yourself to a doctor as soon as possible if you are pregnant or if you haven't started your cycle and have them test you. If you're not pregnant, they can find out what's going on.

Good luck sweetie...

Michelle
