Long distance, things to talk about

A male Canada age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hello,

I'm 25 and during the summer I started dating an 18 year old girl. I know it sounds like a big difference but I felt that we really connected so we thought it was fine. The major problem is that she lives in LA and just started college, and I live in Canada, and am doing graduate school. At the beginning, we could talk for hours and hours on skype, but recently I've noticed that often we don't have that much to say. We still talk a lot, I am in love with her and I'm willing to try like whatever, but I guess my question is whether it's normal that we have less things to say to each other lately.

She's coming for thanksgiving and I can't wait any more! But I'm scared things may not be the same. Maybe I'm being a little bit paranoid, I know. I hope I am because I really want this to work. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you!
