A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I dont know if I am being paranoid but lately I have noticed my boyfriend taking too big of an interest in other chicks, especially when other guys are around. Let me explain. Well we've dated for two years and he has always been very respectful towards my girlfriends.

In the last couple of weeks though I have noticed him talking about chicks with his buddies that makes me uncomfortable. And for some reason I cant remember if this is a new thing or if he has always been like this. Like the other night we were at his friends house and his friend mentioned that another friend of theirs met a girl and my boyfriend immediately and eagerly asked, "is she cute?" which rubbed me the wrong way as Im not sure why he cares?

Then another night recently, he and I were out and we met these people and were hanging with them and then one of the guys girlfriends joined us and asked me for a lighter upon which someone else gave her one and my boyfriend immediately replied outloud, "every single guy pulled out his lighter for her" insinuating all the guys were drooling for her...not the case at all...I think he was speaking his own personal thought outloud. Again made me uncomfortable.

Then yesterday, we were at this swimming pool (a community pool), and these young girls walked in and grabbed chairs to lay out. They were pretty. You could tell they were young, probably college age. I went into the changing room for a minute and when I came out my boyfriend was talking to his buddy who noticed them and said, "there's babes here." And my boyfriend replied, "yeah their visiting from Wisconsin. Its one of their birthdays." And then looked at me and said, "oh I overheard them talking." I didnt say anything but was annoyed that he was eavesdropping on the conversation of other chicks who he and his friends thought were cute.

Later that day we went back to his friends boat (they were setting up for a party on the boat later that night) and the guys asked us how the pool was and my boyfriend replied, "theres these chicks from Wisconsin there, you should invite them to the party, theyre looking to party." I didnt say anything. I left the boat for a minute and when I got back on I caught my boyfriend again in the middle of a conversation with another guy about these girls from Wisconsin that were at the pool. By then I had to say something and I said, "well you seem the most interested in these girls from Wisconsin so why dont YOU go back to the pool and party with them." Then I added, "yeah they're cute at best, he's making a big deal like they're supermodels."

By which everyone got silent and my boyfriend looked embarrassed and judging by the guys faces I think they too felt it was inappropriate.

What is going on here? Should I be concerned?

Sageoldguy1465 agony auntYou need to be concerned only enough, and long enough, to dump this "B/F" who hasn't yet grown up....

Good luck...
