I am wondering whether being called a whimp by a guy for not doing what he wants me to do and saying that I asked a stupid question would be classified as verbal abuse, I have a history of getting involved with abusive men.

wonderingcat agony auntI think on this site, if you search using key words such as "verbal abuse", or "abuse" or "emotional abuse" you will find many postings asking similar questions (with different relationship situations).

I too came to this site asking a similar question, and while waiting for answers from the good aunts/uncles, I discovered other similar questions by trawling through hundreds of postings on this site. LOL

But seriously, I would suggest you do the same. And you will find positive inputs on how to be involved only with caring men who are non-abusive to you.

Hugs,

Cat

Hunny it's abuse if you personally think it is . If you feel bad tell him and if he continues then leave and find somebody else

I'm not exactly sure, but I would tell him that you didn't like being called that and it hurt your feelings. Make sure he knows that you didn't like it, because if he thinks that he can get away with calling you names it will turn into verbal abuse, than maybe even physical abuse.
