 Both men and women can experience pleasure from the anus. The area is sensitive to touch and can be stimulated during sex to get extra pleasure. This has nothing to do with being gay, and has nothing to do with having "gay thoughts". This is about exploring your body, knowing your body, and knowing what feels good. Yes there are men out there who are straight, but who like to be touched there. There are also women who don't like anal sex, but who enjoy being touched there.
It has nothing to do with homosexuality in any way.

Of course you can have that experience and not have homosexual tendancies. That's like asking whether a mother can kiss her baby without having paedophile interests.
He probably got the idea from the usual places, I mean where did people get the idea for oral or stimulating the g-spot?
Stimulating the prostate is not something most guys would be comfortable with, personally I like to experiment with my body and when my girlfriend suggested it, I said yeah. It was actually really good too. It takes a lot of preparation though hygeine-wise.
