A female reader, Bev Conolly Australia +, writes (3 July 2006):

Bev Conolly agony auntThink about the facts in your letter:

* You dated for three years

* She left in 2001

* You didn't see her for 5 years afterwards

* You saw her for six weeks

* She's now married

I don't see a pattern of a girlfriend who wants you, can you? Honestly?

It looks a lot to me like she disappeared for five long years after saying that she didn't want to see you again, then reappeared briefly, then made a very strong statement that it was over by marrying someone else.

All things considered, I'd say there's NO CHANCE whatsoever of getting her back.

Sorry about that, hon.
