I've known this guy for a couple of months and I feel it's too soon for a serious involvement but I want to tell him that I like him for starters.

petina1 agony auntHi, you've known him for a couple of months. My guess is that he knows you like him. Is there a reason why you should want to spell that out or are you wanting more of 'friendship' time. You could suggest some activity that friends get involved with that keeps the friendship safe for eg. a game of squash or some other pursuit. Or a friendly gathering in a pub where other friends will be, a crowd, safety in numbers that sort of thing. Good Luck, hope this helps.
