Hi, I'm a 15 year-old homosexual. I was wondering, is there a way to be straight? Or could I be going through some strange phase?

if I can't be straight, what's the best way to come out? Just say "I'm gay" out of the blue or start a conversation and somehow get them to realize it?

theres no way of going strait but only bloking it out and pretenting which is not a good thing to do as it is not who you are if your gay , so just be yourself and wait a bit to see for sure your gay before you out yourself. RED LIPZ X

AvgGuy1 agony auntWell... you're a little young... but... if you're SURE that you're gay then... yer gay and there's nothing really you can do about it. You can try to suppress it, get a girlfriend/wife, but in the long run you'll only end up making yourself and her miserable.

As others have pointed out. Coming out is something that's extremely personal and even in today's society there's STILL a LOT of homophobia out there. So you have to be VERY CAREFUL about WHO you come out too. High School can be ESPECIALLY rough. So you need to come out only to those you trust. Generally it's best to tell them you wanna talk about something that's been on your mind for a long while... get them alone, tell them how much they mean to you and you hope that what you're going to tell them doesn't end your relationship with you. It WILL CHANGE your relationship with them... and you must be ready to accept that some people will just freak out and want nothing more to do with you.

And remember...

Those who matter, don't care. Those who care, don't matter.

No there's no way to change your sexuality, it's genetic. You're young so don't worry about it and don't worry about coming out until you're sure. I fooled around with guys when I was bit younger than you I even thought I could be gay but I'm not it was just some fun experimentation. I figured out after fooling around with girls more that I was only able to love them romantically and while messing around with guys was fun I did not desire them nor was sexually attracted to them.

If you're sure you're gay then yeah the best way to approach is like anything else that's not a big deal and just say it. It's only as big a deal as you make it. Look sexuality is less and less a big deal these days. People are starting to see that homosexuality is nothing special it's just normal. Pretty soon there'll be no need to come out and say anything as sexuality won't matter at all.

You're still in puberty, so don't be so hung up about it. It could be a phase, it could be permanent. Whatever you decide to do, realize that there is nothing wrong with being either way. The only wrong you could do is to deny your true nature behind a shield that represents what you think is acceptable.

Many people ruin their lives that way. In the end it doesn't matter what others think about you. You might find that hard to believe now but the sooner you realize it, the better.

Some people would argue that you can by using religion or what have you to suppress those feelings, but why bother? It would just make you unhappy in the end trying to love someone you're not hardwired to show romantic interest in. I say embrace it. All forms of love are beautiful.

When I came out I told my closest friends first, friends who could keep my secret. Basically sat my best friend down, said I wanted to seriously talk with her and said, "I like girls." Haha. I used their support to come out more, little by little, and get a girlfriend whom I loved. My family was the last to find out.

I suggest starting with people who will always love and respect you.

Best of luck.
