reader, anonymous, writes (15 December 2007): If I get up in the middle of the night, I sit. I don't want to put the light on and wake the missus up. Listening for the stream to hit the water is a bit of a hit and miss affair. Sitting down ensures accuracy. It's also easier and more comfortable to fart whilst sitting.

When at home I sit down so that I do not splash on the walls, unless I use the toilet in the garage area, then I stand. When I use trees in the woods or urinals when out then I stand. Don't worry about it. I consider it being considerate not to splash on the walls or floor. My wife agrees.

 Hi,
It is perfectly alright to sit. If this is the best and most comfortable way for you, then that is the way to do it, don't let anybody tell you differently. It is not abnormal in any way and lots of men do the same. And you will not have serious problems with women when growing up if you choose to sit down. It is more likely you will have a future problem with women if you splash around and don't put the toilet ring back down.
Also, it is nobody else's business what you are doing in privacy, lock the door and don't worry.

And when you get older and perhaps start liking girls, most women like a man who stands tall when he "wees."And hopefully some others can give you advice on how to avoid it from splashing.
