writes:I hope someone responds to me as I am very confused. My boyfriend and I have been together for 1.5 years, we have been living together for 6 months. He says that he loves me alot, is devoted to me and completely faithful. He treats me very well but I feel that by now he should be in love with me. In the beginning we had our "puppy love phase" and now he says that marriage is a big comittment and that he needs time to know if I am the one. This is driving me crazy because I fell he should be in love with me by now, if I am with him. He speaks of a future with us bit yeat say's he is afraid that he will not fall in love with me and that he wants that euphoric feeling everyday and it is not there every day. That some days he feels as if his heart is ripping out of his chest becasue he feels so happy and others he is confused.I don't know what to think..I love hima nd I'm in love and he keeps asking me to be patient. reader, anonymous, writes (1 March 2009): He sounds in-love and confused! He is thinking unrealistically to think everyday could be like a trip to Disney Land! Relationships have ups and downs. Love means dealing with those as partners!
No matter how in love a couple is...the "honey-moon stage" can not last forever, as much as we would like it to. When reality of every day life sets in, that's when our love is put to the test...and only the strongest survive! Try explaining that to him!
