A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey, i turned 16 at the end of march this year and had the implant placed in the begining of April.

Me and my bf have been together since i was 14 and he was 16, yeah he's nearly 19.

Our parents are happy with us having sex as they know and we know we love each other.

We've booked a hotel for a weekend on 9th August and were loosing BOTH losing our v's.

Yeah were both virgins!!!

I was wondering if losing my virginity then and also having my implant can get me pregnant.....

A male reader, anonymous, writes (7 July 2010):

The implant is pretty good as a contraceptive.

But understand that NO human-made device is full proof. None of them.

Its best to use several types of contraception. Because as far as I know, the implant is useless against STD's and all. Your best bet is still the condom for that kind of thing.

kittykhaos agony auntif your on the implant you should be fine but you sound quite naive you should maybe read about sex and give yourself a better education so your not so worried about things. The implant is a very safe form of contriception and works the moment they put it in and is in effective the moment they take it out. If your really scared and want to be double sure you can always use a condom as well. Good luck and enjoy yourselfs. x
