writes:Ive been with my boyfriend for almost a year and Ive known him for 6 years. We have a wonderful relationship and we have a lot of friends but we mostly hang out with a couple that has a kid. Lately my boyfriend has been making comments about having kids and marriage possibly next summer... very indirectly. I asked him the other night if he was trying to get me pregnant and his response was obviously! In the past, before we hung out with the couple that has a kid, his response was that he wanted to wait till we had been together for 5 years till we got married and had children and both coming from a divorced family.. I understood that. But he used to always hate that I would point out cute kids and tell me not to even think about it. Now Im unsure if he really wants a kid or if its just baby fever... What should I do?

reader, anonymous, writes (11 June 2008): I suggest, whatever you do;
plan to have a baby in the security of marriage if possible.
If he wants to have a child.....that is secondary, your relationship is first, marriage....then a child
Take it easy step by step.....do not allow "broodiness" on either side to affect your decisions.
