Muscle weighs more than fat. It is more dense so...do not rely to much on a scale in this regard.

Also, make sure you are still eating and lots but that what you are eating is healtier. Some people respond to cutting out the sugar in their diets, ie white bread, pasta, carbs...others respond better to cutting out the unwanted fats...fast food, and anything that invites you to add things to it like a baked potatoe and sour cream, cheese...

To me diet means: changing eating habits to more of a healthy diet that includes all four food groups, especially more calcium and bright colored vegetables and fruits. Green, reds, and purples are a best to have fruit and vegetable. Include more grains. And it also mean EXCERCISE. More walking, more taking the stairs over elevator, more swimming, free weights, more anything that has you moving your body and you breaking a sweat for at least 20 minutes a day.

ALWAYS DRINK FLUIDS. MORE WATER AND MORE JUICES. HYDRATE!!

You can find calcium in other products, especially green vegetables.

I am lactose intolerant but will use a lactaid when I want to eat copious amounts of dairy.

Go see a Family Physician who can direct you to a healthy and effective means to lose weight and get you to a healthier you.

Good Luck and Happy Holidays.

I will tell you yhe best thing I found for losing weight, but I guess it depends on how much weight you really need to lose. I lost 2.5 stone in 6 months with a combination of exercise and eating less. I fistly calorie counted, so was allowed 1200-1500 calories a day (which gives either a 2lb or 1.5lb a week loss), plus half of my exercise calories.

I found that running is the only thing that really changed my body shape and helped me lose weight quickly. It also gave me a huge buzz afterwards from the happy hormones. Running outside is wonderful, although i started on a treadmill in the gym. I started on a walk/run training program, where you firstly need to be able to walk for 30 mins briskly, then start at run for 1 minute, walk for 2 minutes, and repeat as much as you can, increase it to 2 minutes running, then 3 minutes...and so on.

Good luck. As you said try not to get into a rut with exercise, go swimming one day, walk the next, do a class, try a new sport.

Keep at it! I lost 2st 10lbs in one and a half years, it was a slog at times and my weight stayed still for ages, then it gradually fell off. Eat sensibly and exercise plenty. I used to walk my sons dog around the lake near us for 1 hour, fast walking. I did 100 sit up per day. I ate loads of fruit and veg and had a detox day. No solids just juices and purified stuff. It works in the end but you have to be patient.

Take care and have a happy and healthy christmas

xx
