writes: I recently went to camp and the guys at my camp are very touchy. I'm only in the 7th grade and I've kissed one of them on the lips and lots of them on the cheek. I hug them all the time and put my arm around the, hold hands, ect. I've grinded pleanty of times and so far my ass has been squeezed and a hand has gone down my shirt a couple times! I have no problem with this flirting because I find it harmless. I just consider these guys my friends. But the problem I've gone to another camp and I've been so touchy with all the guys and I'm afraid if I'm the same way at school it will reflect badley on me through teachers and kids in my grade and uper grades. My school is fast to lable and the last thing I would like to be called is a slut. How can I slow down my over the top flirting habbits for this upcoming fall?

reader, anonymous, writes (25 July 2006): First of all, I believe your definition of "flirty" is a 'bit' off. Flirty is when you express a verse, an action or a touch that includes sexual or romantic propositions. A "touch" meaning you tap a guy lightly on his knee as he makes you laugh with a joke of his. A "touch" meaning you playfully punch his shoulders then make a satiral comment. A "verse" as in being talkative, even making positive comments about him. An "action" meaning leaning over slightly to show some cleavage, and so on and so forth.
For you to go around and kiss every guy on the block on the lips, on the cheeks, allowing them to grab your ass, put their hands in your shirt is unfortunately NOT flirting. That's basically sexual misconduct. Mind you the "misconduct" part is relative to a person's beliefs, but generally, it's the same as what 'sluts' do. Even an open-minded, super liberal, sexually charged person might now even do those things! I for one wouldn't give an ounce of respect to those that do those things.
Anyway, if you don't want to be labelled a slut, then simply either cut down on your 'flirting', or just stop 'flirting' altogether. You can't control what others think/say about you. However, you can control your own actions.
