A female reader, red1982 United Kingdom +, writes (28 December 2007):

It is illegal for you both to be having sex when he is 18 and you are only 15. Try to see if you can wait until you are 16. Then you won't have to be worried about him getting into trouble.

That's my lecture done with (sorry). Condoms are pretty safe, just make sure that you both know how to put one on properly, you have to squeeze the air out of the tip.

Also use some lubricant - you can but this from boots, superdrug, chemists etc, but make sure that it is safe to use with condoms. Durex make their own lubricants (with different taste etc) that are safe to use and KY jelly is also a good one.

You can also buy extra safe condoms - although men say they take away some of the sensitivity.

If you are worried about pregnancy go to your local family planning clinic and talk through contraception that you can take. It's free and confidential. They also give out free condoms. And they won't refuse to see you because of your age either. Have a look through the telephone directory or talk to your GP or school, they will have the contact details.

Good luck to you both
