I'm just so confused here in what I should do. When I say "let's hang out" I do mean just as friends but she seems to think differently about it.

There's this girl I quite like. We get along very well and we both like spending time with each other. We however live a quite a bit away, I tried asking her out and since she had a boyfriend from my area that went really bad she doesnt want to go out with me. She said we could still hang out, which to me sounds like the whole "lets be friends" thing. But she said there's a difference as friends mean never to go out, but hang out means I still have a shot. This is where Im confused, she says that implying she might change her mind. So I dont know if she is that interested or not. Im just really confused with what I should do?
