i am a 44 year old male in love with my 39 year old female cousin. we were kissing cousins in our teens and fell in love then, but i moved away and we haven't seen each other in 20 years. i moved back this year, we got reacquainted, and are in love again. we both want this to work and want advice from someone as to how to tell our familys. we are sexually active (with protection) and want to marry.

I am in love with my cousin also. My situation is that I have grown children and a teenager. I know that I am not answering your question, but I guess I am looking for courage to act on what I believe would be a relationship that would full fill a closeness I long for. I suffer in a relationship with someone who I love and could marry, but I know it would not be a life of happiness for me. i want so much to be with the man I love my cousin and I so afraid of what our family will say and think, especially my children. i would really like to just get to your stage of just being together. What I feel for him is so frightening, he lives in Baltimore, Md and I live in Georgia. I guess I do not have an answer for you, I need help to be with the love of my life.

i am a kissing cousin and i love my boyfriend with everything that i am. i think you should just get your immediate family together and just tell them the truth. it will be hard but i think it will be well worth it in the end. if you love each other then you will still be together afterwards.

i am so happy to read about other peoples relationship. we have been together for 4 years now and our family still dont know. its not that i dont want to tell people its just that he doesnt feel ready to because he is scared that we will be disowned and kicked out so he wants to make sure that we have somewhere to live 1st.

go for it. have fun together and i wish you the best of luck

Hi

I am a kissing cousin and have never been so happy! nearly four years together. We told our family after a few weeks. we were not flavour of the day or for TWO YEARS! (with SOME ). But all well now... acceptance. look on the bright side, when you get married your auntie will become your mother in law! We looked for the humour. Love is Love and if you get a chance at it, take it.

Funny enough our parents had no problem with it or my partners four children in their twenties...it was the 30...40..telling us it was wrong. It is the most RIGHT thing that i did in my entire life.

Be Happy...if family truly love you they will in the end want you both to be happy??????? respect their feelings and then give them TIME to accept.

If you are told you are hurting their feelings....remember it is their pride you hurt.

Just bring some humour in as well, do a family tree and see all the roles change, all our family in the end laughed at this. Love and Humour are a good combination.

There's no legal (or moral as far as I'm concerned) reason why you shouldn't be together as you would like to be, so just tell your families in simple terms that you are both now an 'item'. It really is as simple as that.

When they see how much you mean to each other and how much you love each other, if they were initially against the idea, they'll soon warm to it.

I know. I've been there and there were no problems whatsoever.
