I'm dating the girl my friend likes and he doesn't know it!

Question - (15 October 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 15 October 2011)
A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My best friend just told me about his undying love for this girl, usually, not a problem. In fact, i'd do anything within my power to make it happen for him. However, I like the girl too and to make it even worse she's coming over and staying in my flat on monday night. It's as 'friends' but we all know what's happening.

Now do I tell her not to bother, cancel it and forget her and help my mate. Do I tell him and risk my longest friendship because of some stupid girl. OR Do I go ahead with this plan and pray he doesn't find out?

I arranged this 'date' before I knew so should I feel guilty about it at all?

Any help will be great! Thanks :)

You need to tell your friend you like this girl too, as much as he does. You have to be honest with your friend. Then the two of you can talk it through. I think it would be much worse if he found out you had the girl at your flat.

Tell him you like this girl too and if he is willing to back down then see the girl, but if you say nothing and see her without him knowing, thats not going to look good for your friendship. Either tell your friend you like this girl or leave well alone. Thats my advice.

Good luck.x
